For the second time in as many months we welcome back Kale Brock to 100 Not Out, just hours after back-to-back sold-out premieres of his documentary The Gut Movie.
The realisation of a major life’s dream is a great talking point on this episode, as is the power of fiction (most notably Wilbur Smith), which as you’ll find is the seed of The Gut Movie.
We discuss taking time to reflect on great achievements in life amongst other things, including some good old banter and laughter.
To spend more time with people like Damian, Marcus & Kale, consider the trip of a lifetime to Ikaria for the 2018 Mediterranean Longevity Experience.
Spend 9 nights and 10 days with Damo, MP and a select group of like-minded people on the island where people forget to die.

Are You Making This Big Career Mistake?
Monday Oct 30, 2017
Monday Oct 30, 2017
On this episode, we discuss the easily-lost element of any successful career – a successful apprenticeship.
Behind every apprenticeship is a student willing to learn and a mentor willing to teach. Unfortunately, many aspiring entrepreneurs, business owners and employees are not willing to take advice or mentorship and that’s you are making your biggest Career Mistake. And on the flipside, many people consider themselves too busy to provide mentoring.
This episode proposes that we all consider what apprenticeships we have done in our life, and if the apprenticeship has NOT happened, to go out there and enjoy being the apprentice.
And, just as has been written in Mastery by Robert Greene, it’s the great apprentices that go on to become the Masters.

An entertaining, inspiring and enthralling episode of 100 Not Out for you this week (well at least we think so).
Dr Barry Rushton has been a chiropractor for almost 40 years. He has 9 children (one of whom Damian studied with in New Zealand), has had a successful career in music (including being a drummer with Kal-Q-Lated Risk and Wilde & Reckless – with Richard Wilkins), and is madly in love with his wife, Karen.
As Damian asks in the episode, “you seem to do life so well Barry. How do you do it?” Listen in as Barry shares what he’s learnt in 66 years on this planet, and why he and wife Karen enrolled for the 100 Not Out Longevity Experience on the Greek Island of Ikaria in 2018.
If you loved this episode, there’ll be 10 days of conversations like this on the “island where people forget to die” in 2018. Click here for more information on the event, plus the application form. Or simply go to www.100notout.com
To see more of Barry, watch his entertaining segment on The Beat Goes On, where he reviews the latest in music and movies.
Barry’s latest recommendation is the music of young Kiwi Ciaran McMeekan.

The idea of a sugar tax has hit Australia, following in the footsteps of countries including Great Britain, Fiji, Belgium, France and parts of the USA.
But is a Sugar tax the answer to our obesity problem here in Australia? You know where we are going with this. Of course not! If a tax on cigarettes has done little to stop people smoking, the $8.6 billion obesity epidemic is hardly going to be rescued by charging more for sugary foods.
In this episode, we discuss our own solutions to the issue, including a shift in philosophy around food pricing, and a shakeup of the health system, just to name two.
You may also hear some singing and jokes as always in this episode 🙂

Coffee, Wine and Chocolate – Good, Bad Or Otherwise?
Monday Sep 25, 2017
Monday Sep 25, 2017
The research on coffee, wine and chocolate is by no means providing people with any clarity on whether these foods are healthy or not.
This article provides little hope for clarity on wine, whilst chocolate and coffee benefits also seem to fluctuate in the research world.
On this episode, we attempt to cut through the complexity and shed light on when coffee, wine and chocolate may be unhealthy, and when it serves a purpose.
We share some of our experiences with coffee, wine and chocolate from our 2016 Longevity Experience in Ikaria, whilst also outlining how other areas of our life can impact our health.
The latter has been discussed at length with the Up For A Chat girls on their recent Q & A episodes.
Are you ready for the bucket list trip of a lifetime in 2018 with Damian and Marcus? For more information on our 10-day 2018 Mediterranean Longevity Experience in Ikaria click here.

100NO 233: STAND UP, stop sitting and live longer with Daniel Angelini
Monday Sep 18, 2017
Monday Sep 18, 2017
Daniel Angelini worked in the IT industry for 12 years and some of the biggest companies in Australia including Telstra, ANZ and more recently at Uber.
Daniel Angelini sat working for at least 12 hours per day, and after he and other family members experienced back injuries, he began to investigate the impact of sitting and health.
Daniel has gone to write a remarkable book titled The Sitting Epidemic and design the remarkable MOVI Stand Up Desk, which has been created with the backing of health experts and research from over 80 medical journals. The result is hands down in our humble opinion … the world’s leading stand up desk.
Most importantly, designs such as Daniel can help all members of society. From school students who are learning from a very young age that sitting is normal (when it’s not) to the corporate world and retirees alike. If you only get one thing from this podcast, may it be that you commit to reducing your sitting time each and every day. The decision could give you a greater quality and quantity of life.
NOTE: The MOVI Stand Up Desk has just been launched worldwide on Kickstarter and you can get in early with a remarkable early bird offer. We believe it would make an incredible Christmas present for the family and/or a necessary improvement to the workspace. Find out more go to www.moviworkspace.com

Monday Sep 11, 2017

Damian recently attended an evening on dealing with children and technology. On this episode we broaden the discussion around keeping-up with technology as we get older (and the consequences if we do not).
Damian takes us through a chronological journey of the way technology and communication has evolved, and together we discuss how to stay relevant and feel younger by ensuring we not just maintain, but grow our relationships with younger generations.

100NO 231: Disapproving Family & Friends – How To Deal With It
Monday Sep 04, 2017
Monday Sep 04, 2017
Mozart’s dad Leopold was completely against Mozart becoming a composer. Charles Darwin’s dad was dead against Darwin’s fascination with collecting specimens. He didn’t believe there was any career for it.
Here sit just two examples of two incredible people whose legacies would be lost if they had not transcended the concerns and family disapproval.
It also shows that nothing has changed. Many people today are not living the life of their dreams purely based on the opinions of others.
In this episode we share our strategies for dealing with friends and family who don’t necessarily support our careers or dreams.
Looking for the ultimate life purpose clarifier? Our 2018 Mediterranean Longevity Experience is the perfect trip to own your life purpose. Learn from the people who do it better than anyone. It’s free to apply – all info at www.100notout.com
